ACTIVITIES
Below is a list of our Activity Groups that are open to all members:
All Member Meeting
Once a month the board meets to review club business, vote on important issues, generate ideas for the calendar and discuss any other topics our members are interested in. Occasionally, we host a guest speaker to come to this meeting and talk to us on a particular subject matter. Children are always welcome in the meeting room, and the space is equipped with a playroom stocked with age-appropriate toys to help keep them occupied! We encourage both members and prospective members interested in our club to attend this meeting to see who we are and what we are all about! We’d love to see you at our next meeting, contact us today!
Meals for Moms
When a member has a baby or experiences a loss in their family, one of the moms puts the call out for volunteers to prepare and deliver a meal to the family. Also called Sunshine MOMS, this is another fun and thoughtful way we show support for our friends in the chapter and this gesture is always well received.
MOMS Night Out
Once a month we schedule an evening activity that allows just the moms to "hang out." We try to switch it up and offer something new every month, from dinners at local restaurants, to bowling, to movie or game nights, or a themed party at a member's home, it's a great way to get to know other moms in a relaxing and enjoyable setting.
Playgroups
Playgroups are, by far, the most popular activity offered by MOMS Club ®. Our current groups are broken down by age (Mixed Ages, Toddler and Infant) and generally meet at a member’s home, park (weather permitting), or some other third-party location like a library, farm, bounce place or museum. Siblings are always welcome and you are not limited to attending just one playgroup. Although the purpose of a play date is to get the kids together to play, most moms will tell you that playgroups are as much for them (and some days even more so) than for the kids. We encourage all of our moms to host a playgroup at a day, time and location that is convenient for you, we love when our calendar is stocked with options!
Parties
We are always looking for something to celebrate in the MOMS Club ®! Past parties have included a New Year's at Noon party, a Valentine's Day celebration, an Easter Egg Hunt, and a Toddler Halloween Party. We also host an annual End-of-Year Picnic where all members get together at a local park to celebrate the end of the school year and the MOMS Club calendar year.
Service Projects
One of the most important missions of the MOMS Club ® is to perform at least one service project annually, ideally to benefit children in the community. This is something our chapter takes very seriously and we have been astonished by the overwhelming generosity and support for our service project endeavors from our member base. The most recognizable service projects that our chapter has done include the building of Gazebo Park and the Tot Lot in Hopewell Boro in 2009 as well as bring Safety Town, a one week safety education summer camp for rising kindergarteners, to the community in 2012. Other service projects we have performed are food, back-to-school supplies and clothing drives, fundraisers to raise tuition money to send underprivileged children to a week of summer camp, children's library renovations, trash clean ups from the streets of our township, and Christmas caroling at a local assisted living facility. We always enjoy targeting a service project that we can incorporate our own children in to help teach them the value of giving to others. We are open to our members bringing service project ideas that are near and dear to their heart to the board and leading the project!
